About Dagenham 88 Runners

The Club -

Founded in 1988, this year celebrates its 30th year as a full road running and cross country club. We are a club for the many and pride ourselves on having a membership of varying standards and abilities. Although we are a dedicated running club, in recent years there has been a keen interest in multi-sports and in response to this, members often arrange group cycles and swimming meet-ups amongst themselves to support one and other in their own personal challenges.

How to find us -

On a Tuesday evenings we meet at our HQ located at May & Bakers Sports & Social Club, Rainham Road South, Dagenham, Essex. Entry to the Car Park is via the mini roundabout in Dagenham Road RM7 0QX (see map below).

On Thursday nights we offer track session, free to all members, at the Jim Peters Stadium, Mayesbrook Park, RM8 2JR. We also offer a running session at May and Bakers with run leaders from May and Bakers from 7:30pm.

Upon Arrival -

Both sessions start at 7:30pm. If you could aim to be there before 7.15pm we can get you sorted out into a group. If you could ask for any club committee member upon arrival they will look after you (see profile page for details of the club officers).

How do I become a member? -

We want to make sure that you are happy with us before becoming a committed member and therefore suggest that you try us out before completing any membership. The current membership fees are £25 per annum, renewable in April. This fee covers full club membership and your England Athletics membership which offers you affiliated, discounted entry into races and discounted, sporting merchandise. In order to keep our facilities free at both our race HQ (May and Bakers & Jim Peters Stadium) we ask that if you are going to train with us on a regular basis then you consider joining us as a member so that we can cover costs of our facilities.

If you require any further info please do not hesitate to contact us.
